Will Diagnostic Records Be Taken at the First Visit?

When scheduling allows, diagnostic records may be taken during your initial appointment. These records help ensure accurate planning and may include:

  • Digital X-rays
  • Digital photographs
  • Digital scans

Collecting these records allows Dr. Doug to create a precise and personalized treatment plan while prioritizing comfort and safety.

Questions Addressed During Your First Visit

Your consultation is designed to give you clarity and confidence. During your visit, we may discuss:

  • Is orthodontic treatment recommended for my specific needs?
  • Is now the ideal time for me or my child to begin treatment?
  • Which orthodontic treatment options are most appropriate for my case?
  • Will any teeth need to be removed to achieve the best results?
  • How long is orthodontic treatment expected to take?
  • What will the total cost be, and what insurance coverage or payment plans are available?

A finalized plan is confirmed once all diagnostic records are reviewed.

What Happens After the Initial Consultation?

After your consultation, you’re one step closer to the smile you’ve always wanted. If treatment is recommended, we will schedule your first appointment, during which your orthodontic appliance will be placed. This visit typically takes about one hour, and our team will ensure you are comfortable throughout the process.

Scheduling Appointments

Orthodontic visits are typically scheduled every six to eight weeks. Our team works with you to make appointments as convenient as possible and offers evening and limited weekend availability to accommodate busy schedules.
If you need to reschedule or are running late, just let us know. We understand that life happens, and will do our best to accommodate you.

Visiting Your Dentist During Orthodontic Treatment

It’s important to continue seeing your family dentist every six months during orthodontic treatment for cleanings and routine checkups. If additional dental care is needed, we are happy to coordinate with your dentist to ensure seamless care.
